Roissy in a nutshell

Roissy-en-France is a village in the Val-d'Oise department, north of Paris. The airport that carries its name is a separate transport hub, not a synonym for the whole municipality. Most travelers only see the terminals, yet the village has a Renaissance church, the remains of an old château and small parks.

This guide covers both sides: Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with its terminals, the way into Paris by RER B, bus or taxi, parking and airport hotels, plus Disneyland Paris, Parc Astérix, Chantilly and Senlis. If you have hours between flights, start with the Paris day trips and layover tours. Prices are in euros as listed in 2026, and they change.

Our picks: tours and transfers around Roissy-CDG

After a delayed landing, the private transfer that counts its 90 minutes of waiting from touchdown is the safest way into Paris. With a long layover, the four-hour tour covers the sights, and the Disneyland package suits families who want transport and tickets in one booking.

Hand-picked tours, booked through GetYourGuide. Prices are indicative starting prices in euros (as of October 2026). Tap a tour for live availability and the current price in your currency.

The village of Roissy-en-France

The church of Saint-Éloi dates from around 1570 and has been a protected monument since 1942. Check the opening hours for the interior before you plan a visit. Parts of the former château survive, in particular the stables. Do not expect a château museum.

The town hall sits in a house from the 1930s. In 2025 the Place Pays de France became a green pedestrian area. The town hall park and the Parc des Cinq Continents with its orangery make a short, quiet walk.

If you drive, note the local rules: continuous parking in the municipality is limited to 48 hours, and blue zones allow 2 hours with a parking disc, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check the sign at your space. The village is not a free long-stay car park.

Airport or village: where to sleep

The two locations are not the same trip.

Hotels at the airport are reached on the free CDGVAL line, for example near Terminal 2 and the station, at Roissypole and in the Parking PR area. Hotels in Roissy-en-France or in Le Mesnil-Amelot need their own transfer, and each hotel organizes its own shuttle. Ask your hotel about price, hours and night service. A hotel near the airport does not mean a short walk to your terminal. The hotels page lists the zones.

Flight noise is a fact of life around the runways. Public flight-track and noise-measurement maps exist for the area, with a delay of 30 minutes, but they do not tell you how loud a given room is.

A few things to know before you go

The points that change most plans in 2026.

The Roissybus no longer runs

Since 1 March 2026 there is no direct bus between the Opéra and CDG. The express bus 9517 links Saint-Denis-Pleyel with Roissypole in about 30 minutes, daily from 5:20 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

A separate rail ticket for the airport

The airport ticket costs €14, reduced €7, in 2026. It works between the Paris Region and the airports and does not cover buses or trams.

CDG Express opens later

The direct rail link is announced for 28 March 2027. For trips in 2026 it is not an option.

Terminal names change in 2027

New terminal names are announced for March 2027, and tickets for later trips may already show them. For now, use Terminals 1, 2 and 3 as on the signs.

How do I get from CDG to Paris?
